Before sending
Send only what Atlas needs to understand the matter
Send copies rather than original documents. Remove passwords, account numbers, medical information and identifying details that are not necessary. If anonymity is important, say so in the first email.
Personal safety
If someone may monitor your device or account
Use a safer device and an email account the person cannot access before contacting Atlas. Do not keep submitted evidence, sent messages or browser history somewhere that could place you at greater risk. Seek safety-planning support before contacting Atlas if disclosure could be dangerous.
What Atlas may receive
A submission may include your name and contact details, the organisation involved, your account of events, policies, decisions, correspondence, screenshots, transcripts and other evidence you choose to provide.
How the information is used
Atlas uses submitted information to acknowledge and review the matter, assess whether it falls within the organisation’s mandate, verify evidence, request further information, examine the conduct or policy concerned and decide whether advocacy or publication is appropriate.
Access and disclosure
Submitted material is held using hosting and email services supplied through Hostinger. Ashley Peverett is presently the only person authorised to access Atlas submissions and case-working records.
Atlas will not publish your name or identifying information, or provide identifying material to the organisation concerned, without your express permission unless required by law. Atlas may publish verified, de-identified findings where a person cannot reasonably be identified.
Retention, correction and deletion
Submissions that do not proceed to investigation will ordinarily be deleted within 12 months. Material used in an active investigation is retained while the investigation remains open. Identifying source evidence and consent records supporting a closed or published case may be retained for up to seven years after the case closes or the material is last relied upon, unless earlier deletion is appropriate or longer retention is required by law. Retention will be reviewed at least annually. A de-identified public record may remain after identifying source material is deleted.
You may ask Atlas to correct or delete personal information you submitted. Atlas will confirm the request and explain if any information must be retained to meet a legal obligation or preserve the integrity of an existing public record.
Website and email security
This website does not require an account and does not contain an evidence-upload form. Submissions are made by email. No internet or email system can guarantee absolute security, so do not send information that is unnecessary to the review.
If Atlas becomes aware of unauthorised access that creates a material risk to a person who submitted evidence, Atlas will assess the incident, take reasonable containment steps and notify affected people where appropriate.
Responsibility
Atlas Men’s Advocacy is an unincorporated advocacy organisation based in Perth, Western Australia. Ashley Peverett is responsible for its current governance and evidence-handling decisions.
